8:59a Moving on: Egyptian Magic Cream
I finally collected my Egyptian Magic Cream last night from a spree-er. For those who don't know what the EMC is:
Image credit: www.lovelula.com (owner: let me know if you want me to take the picture off)
i wanted to get the image from the emc website but couldn't find an image of their product - they are showing it in flash format. The owner and creator's name for this cream amuses me. Lord-Pharaoh ImHotep-AmonRa. A pharaoh, architect and god rolled into one.
Anyway the amusing thing about this cream is that despite its name, it doesn't came from Egypt, so don't go around asking Egyptians about this cream. Likely they will think you are nuts. Neither can you buy it in Egypt.
This product is from the US of A. I was looking for a good night cream that wont bust my bank account to use, and I have heard people talking about this cream. So I decided that I would get a tub the first chance I get.
So I tried it out for the first time last night. I applied my toner, and then gingerly applied abit of it on the corner of my face. AND MY SKIN IMMEDIATELY CAME OFF.
just kidding. hee.
The texture of the cream resembles Tiger Balm actually, without the smell. In fact there wasn't really any smell for this cream. ok its not entirely smell- free but take my word for it that so long as you don't put your nose right next to it, you don't smell it, and probably wont smell it after you apply it.
It feels pretty greasy when I first tried it. I read somewhere that you aren't suppose to apply gunks of it onto your face, just a very light thin layer. I got a little enthusiastic though, so over applied a little. In the end when I wake up in the morning those parts I over applied looked oily and those which I didn't looked matt. I have to admit this morning I woke up expecting to be beauty queen material. Alas, the mirror says otherwise.
ok quit laughing at me. While I have not turn into a beauty queen, I did notice that my brown acne scars were less obvious. I did get a few tiny zits though, but I always do, even before I use EMC, so I wasn't really surprised. Skin didn't feel dry as it used to with other creams (then again i didn't get it using my Vichy Normaderm either) yes, I still get sahara skin these days.
I'm using it under my makeup today, and I wondered if I would still turn out to be a big kwali face at the end of the day as I always did with other moisturizers. Stay Tuned.

11:43p Help regarding Boot Camp and rEFit.
Ok so I just installed Boot camp on my Macbook (My operative System is Tiger) and yes I did trick Boot camp into running by changing the date setup (Not proud really). My problem starts after I installed rEFit and tried to install Backtrack 3.
I´ve got a tutorial (very detailed one) but I have no idea if I should install Linux first. Anyone knows if I should? Because the Backtrack cd won´t boot and I did not install windows or Linux .
Any help would be welcomed fellow mac users :)

11:54a CS3 + Snow Leopard
Have the Snow Leopard + CS3 problems been resolved? (If not, I'm guessing they're not going to be.) I'm on 10.4 still, so to get to Snow Leopard I have to upgrade to 10.5 first ($?) and then I'm planning to buy the $129 (Amazon price) box set, and then I won't really have money left to throw at Adobe, even for the educational version.

I have a kinda weird problem...iTunes is coping the wrong artwork to the wrong songs on my iPod. Like, it swaps them around with other songs. It REALYY bothers me. I tried downloading the song again (I didn't get it off iTunes, I get music from other places), and re-adding the song to iTunes, and it still is messing the artwork up. I add my own artowkr, either from Amazon or pretty graphics I find. Is there any way to fix this? I even tried to reset the iPod, and still no change. Help?

7:29a Disk is completely filled up
The startup disk on my MBP filled up completely over the last day or so. It was getting up there, but on Wednesday *the last time I checked* there was 14 GB free. When I woke the old boy up this morning, I was greeted with the "Startup disk is almost full" message. Poked around but I must confess I am not really sure what I should be looking for. Or how to, really. But I looked around found a few redundant files, moved them to the trash, emptied it. The disk size briefly fluctuated and almost immediately went to zero KB available. I haven't got a clue what is going on here. What should I be looking at or for? X-posted

8:47p David Lebovitz's book
I finally got my hands on David Lebovitz's book The Sweet Life in Paris. He is an American who happens to be a food blogger and living in Paris. I've always wanted to check out his book given the good reviews but never got around to buying it. And then lo and behold, I stumbled upon it at the library. Just my luck. I checked the book out from the library and have been reading it on my commute to and from work. He talks about his life in Paris and in between the stories, he tucks in recipes here and there. I've already bookmarked several recipes in there that caught my interests-- chocolate cream puffs, chicken tagine...mmmm.
He talks about French culture and its quirks while juxtaposing it with American culture and its own quirks. His writing is full of wit and I found myself smiling when reading it on the bus. I think it's a good read even if one is not interested in the recipes in and of itself. One of my favorite parts was him describing his visit to a doctor's office in Paris. The doctor asked if he does any sports. He replied yes of course and went on to explain that he does yoga 3-4 times a week. And the French doctor said, "Yoga? That's not a sport. That's a philosophy."
Hopefully I'll get to embark on some of those featured recipes soon. Stay tuned.

5:50p Firefox hanging upon startup
Here's a tricky one for you: after my Mac wakes up from sleep (either display sleep or full sleep, it doesn't matter which), Firefox will not start up properly. The icon will bounce, then stay "lit," but the application window never appears, and I have to force quit. The only way to fix it, so far, is to log out then log back in. As you may guess, that's a pain. Anyone else have this issue? And more importantly, how did you fix it? (The obvious choice - never let the system go to sleep - is not an option for me.)
PS - I'm running an iMac 21.5", 4GB RAM, OS X 10.6.1, and Firefox 3.5.5. Addons are Echofon, Adblock Plus, and NoScript.

10:52a Safari upgrade
Ever since I upgraded to the latest version of Safari, I've had these funny downloads automatically pop up called ch.ashx. Does anyone know why this happens? Is it a virus? Does anyone know how to make it stop?
thanks

I'm Still Breathing by Katy Perry I leave the gas on Walk the alleys in the dark Sleep with candles burning I leave the door unlocked I'm weaving a rope and Running all the red lights Did I get your attention Cause I'm sending all the signs that The clock is ticking and I'll be giving my 2 weeks Pick your favorite shade of black You'd best prepare a speech Say something funny Say something sweet But don't say that you loved me Chorus: I'm still breathing Though we've been dead for awhile This sickness has no cure We're going down for sure Already lost our grip Best abandon ship Maybe I was too pale Maybe I was too fat Maybe you wanted better, better luck in the sack No formal education and I swore way too much But I swear you didn't care Cause we were in love So as I write this letter and shed my last tear It's all for the better That we end this here Let's close this chapter Say one last prayer But don't say that you loved me Chorus: I'm still breathing Though we've been dead for awhile This sickness has no cure We're going down for sure Already been diagnosed, so lets give up the ghost
I'm still breathing Though we've been dead for awhile This sickness has no cure We're going down for sure Already lost our grip Best abandon ship
I'm still breathing I'm still breathing

Another week of no gym. First was due to a cold, this week was coz the wakeboard hit my wrist. At least i looked like i was doing a grab! :) so lame! I'm happy, I think i found a group i can regularly ride with. Our plans next would be diving and inline skating. Both of which i'm terrible at. But i wanna try. I feel like a kid, wanting to be outdoors and pushing myself physically... even with the ever growing bald spot on my head. :)
